So we headed out to the airport and met the rest there. By the time we reached the airport, it was almost 11pm. Our flight was at 1am but we stopped by the airport earlier at 4pm to book our seats. Typical. Right. We met the gang at Macdonalds. Everyone was there. We headed to the departure hall chattering away. Infront of the departure gates, we said our goodbyes and take cares.
This was my first ever long flight.Firstly, I'm a coward. Heights and loud noises scares me. I'm a light sleeper and I'm not the power nap or sleep in the bus kinda person. So throughout the whole flight, I was fidgety and was a nuisance to hubby. I disrupted his sleep too many times until he gave me the stare. Sorry babe. For breakfast, we were served porridge and seaweed. We were given sides llike fruits, kimchi and a mini container of water. After like forever, we touched down in Seoul; Incheon International Airport. By then, it was around 9am Korea time (8am Singapore time). When I first got off the plane, I felt the cold wind against my skin. It was dry and cold. It was as if the wind had razor sharp teeth and numerous mouths. We walked around the airport looking for snacks. we even stepped outside just to challenge ourselves.. It was -6 degrees when we landed and the wind was no joke.
We then followed the signages to the Airport Railroad train to get to Gimpo Airport. We decided to get ourselves T-money which is basically similar to Ez-link here. We topped up a basic amount and kept doing so when needed. Anyway, there were two routes for us to choose from. Its either:
- Airport Express train which was around 8000 won ( SGD$9.40)
- Airport Railroad which was around 4000 won (SGD$4.70).
The express train of course headed straight to our destination with no stops whereas the normal train stops at around 5 other stops before our destination. It only took us around half and hour via Airport railroad to get from Incheon Airport to Gimpo Airport.
Gimpo Airport is a domestic airport thus it is kinda small and easy for us to get around. We checked in our luggages and went for a munchmunch hunt while waiting for our 1pm flight. We bought bread biscuits and tidbits to fill our tummy.
The flight from Gimpo Airport to Jeju Airport took around an hour. We felt super tired by then. we were hungry and our legs were jelly-like. when we reached Jeju Airport, we went to look for a jumbo taxi that can transport us to our hotel which was nearby. It was then when we found our god-sent driver, Mr Kang. He is one awesome sunbaenim. He spoke minimal english;
Mr Kang's language = What it actually means
It's ok = Yes
Ommo ommo = One more
Black = You, wearing the black coat
So most of our conversations went like,
Us: So Mr Kang, tomorrow 9am fetch us at hotel. Can?
Mr Kang: 9am, it's ok, it's ok.
He took us to our hotel in less than 10 minutes. By then it was around 3.30pm (Korea time). Our hotel room was bigger than I expected! I was so impressed! The bed was so inviting that we decided to rest and made arrangements for Mr Kang to fetch us at 9pm to visit Love Land.
Love Land was very interesting. It was part of a project for college students if I'm not wrong. You can check out more on Google. Anyways, we spent our first night at Love Land and it was super cold but we loved it!! So very different from the hot and humid Singapore.
Images that you are about to see might be disturbing. =)
I'm sorry but just look at these snacks. LOL
And yes, we did eat those. They were filled with red bean paste. Anyhoos, we went back to our hotel, ate cup noodles and called it a day. <3
